David Essex wrote his own musical ‘Mutiny’ (1985), based on the novel ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’ by Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall. Essex starred as Fletcher Christian and the West End show was nominated for Best Musical in the Ivor Novello awards. The score produced three Top 10 singles, including ‘Tahiti’ (1985).
